Mr. Alan Beckham is an American that grew up
in several states in the eastern USA who came to Japan in 2001. With over 20
years teaching experience from junior high school to university levels, he
understands the different needs of students at these various levels. His education includes a BA in Philosophy from Furman University in Greenville, SC and MA in Mathematics from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. Beyond these degrees, he completed further studies in Education and ESL. When he lived in Nashville, TN, he was a licensed teacher and taught in both junior and senior high schools. The University of Maryland University College brought him to Japan to teach on US military bases for 14 years. At various times, he has taught as an adjunct at Sophia and Waseda Universities, St. Louis Community College, and Nashville Institute of Technology. While teaching English full time, he has taught at Atsugi Super Science and Machida high schools, Shibaura Institute of Technology, and several corporations. He is excited to be teaching the students at Kalmia and helping them to accomplish their goals. |
| アラン・ベッカム講師はアメリカ出身です。米国東部に育ち、日本には2001年に来ました。中学から大学まで指導経験があり、様々なレベルの生徒のニーズを理解することができます。 大学学位はサウスカロライナ州グリーンヴィルのファーナム大学で哲学学士、ミネソタ州セントルイスのセントルイス大学で数学の修士号を取得しています。このほか、教育学とESL（第二言語としての英語）を修めました。 テネシー州ナッシュビルでは正規の教師を勤め、中学および高校で教鞭をとりました。メリーランド大学で教え始めたことから日本の米国軍基地に赴任し、14年間教えました。また、上智大学および早稲田大学、そしてセントルイス・コミュニティカレッジおよびナッシュビル工科大学で助手として教えたこともあります。 フルタイムの英語教師として、厚木高等学校、町田高等学校、芝浦工業大学、そして複数の企業で教えました。カルミアで生徒たちの目標を達成する一助となることに大きな喜びを感じています。 |
